That is frightening. <BR/><BR/>A piece of advice I would add, if I may be so bold, tell your closest friends and colleagues, prior to undertaking the whole of transition. It softens the blow, in a fashion similar to informing your friends or colleagues that you are pregnant or have some major illness.<BR/><BR/>In my experience, do just this has garnished me significant support from my colleagues and friends.
